However, we have had an excellent response to our pens and other products, and continue to grow vigorously. We specialize in unusual and unique gift pens, but we also make gifts such as desk accessories, keychains, perfume pens, etc. We guarantee your satisfaction. If we cannot give you the pen that will thrill you or the person you give it to, we will gladly refund your money. Our pens are hand crafted, not mass produced. Hence, each pen is an individual work of craftsmanship. Naturally, as with any natural product, there will be variations in pastern and coloration, but this is what gives these pens their distinctive look of hand workmanship.

Our website includes a large variety of pens that are in stock and waiting for your order. Usually, when you order a certain pen, we will make up a new one especially for you, in the configuration you like. However, should you not find EXACTLY what you want, you have the option of ordering what you desire. Just go to the "custom order" section, and follow the prompts given there. You will select the style(Slimline, Polaris, Executive, etc.), the "cut"(straight or flair-for slimline only), then the metal you want for the hardware (24k gold, satin gold, etc.) and finally, the wood/material you wish the pen made of (zircote, cocobolo, corion, etc.) We will then make the pen and ship it to you via priority mail. Most orders will reach you in a week or less. In a very few cases, where we have to order something from our suppliers, the time may extend to 2-3 weeks, but this would be highly unusual, and we would inform you of the delay.

Have a look at our pens and other wares. We believe you will like them-a lot! Happy shopping!

How did Pendragon crafts get started?

Many people have asked this question. The truth is, it came out of a personal
tragedy, and was originally intended as grief therapy to get out of a “withdrawal”
mode that frequently accompanies grief. Once we began, however, the pens just
took on life of their own. They were so popular, and sold so well, that we were
compelled to form a company and build a website. Most of our selling is through
the Lithia Artisan’s Market in Ashland, Oregon, but we expect to do some additional
business through our website as others become aware of our products.

What woods are used in Pendragon pens?

While we use many materials in our pens, the exotic woods from all over the world
are unquestionably the most exciting and beautiful. We use most of the standard
woods; Cocobolo and Zircote from Central America, Padauk from Burma, Wenge
from Africa, and Tulipwood from Brazil to name just a few. Some of the more
exotic woods are Koa from Hawaii, Jarrah and Red Mirrell from Australia, Thuya
burl from North Africa and Southern Spain. Each of these has its own distinctive
color and grain to make your pen absolutely unique!

Often, within a type, there is considerable variation. Jarrah ranges from rosy pink to
dark brown, and Cocobolo can range from deep chocolate brownto reddish brown.
Check out our website to see the full range!

What other materials are used in Pendragon Pens?

In addition to the beautiful exotic woods and burls we use, there is a wide variety
of alternative materials. We use Dymondwood, a manufactured wood that gives a
marvelous “stripey” effect in many beautiful colors. We also use some acrylics,
including Inlace acrylester, which gives great depth and bright color. Aquabrite
acrylic gives a “lava lamp” effect in several colors. We even use Dakota Burl, made
from compressed sunflower seed hulls! If you want to take the time to do a special
order, we can also order Water buffalo horn, deer antler, and even rattlesnake skin!
(That stuff is really pricey, however). If you like the look of stone, we have corion-like
material which is usually made into sink countertops. It makes, however, beautiful pens!
(The blue marble and forest green are especially spectacular)
